Ingredient performance: a major challenge

The importance of transparency for consumers

Today, there is a wide choice of food supplements on the nutraceutical market… It can be difficult for consumers to make an informed choice…
The geographical origin of ingredients and finished products is an increasingly important criterion for consumers when purchasing dietary supplements. In particular, French origin and manufacture are gaining in popularity on the French market. These parameters now count for 66% and 65% of consumers respectively [1].
The traceability of ingredients, which makes it possible to trace the geographical origin of the raw material, is thus part of a quality approach.

💡 Did you know?
In the dietary supplements sector, the words “made in France” do not always guarantee that the ingredients are of French origin, which underlines the importance of verifying the geographical origin of raw materials.

Proof of efficacy: a guarantee of performance for nutraceutical brands

Food supplement laboratories benefit from a wide choice of ingredient suppliers, offering nutraceutical manufacturers diversified solutions tailored to their needs. Ideally, before entering a formulation, each ingredient should be rigorously selected for its quality and performance, demonstrated with proof of efficacy backed by scientific studies. These guarantees assure manufacturers that the ingredients incorporated into their formulations will meet consumer expectations in terms of results, while complying with current regulations. This meticulous selection is a real competitive advantage for brands, enabling them to innovate while ensuring the reliability of their products.

Kera-Diet®: beauty and ageing well through clinical efficacy

Kera-Diet® is an amino acid complex specifically designed to support the health and condition of skin, nails and hair (shine, volume, density, growth and vitality).

Through clinical studies, Kera-Diet® has demonstrated its efficacy through its beneficial effects on the beauty of skin, hair and nails. In 2022, a first patent was granted for hair and nail applications following the clinical study carried out in 2017. A second patent was filed in 2023 for skin applications following the clinical results of the study conducted the same year.kera-diet on skinpatent granted kera-diet

Proven performance of Kera-Diet®: results of clinical study conducted in 2023 (study conducted on 3 groups of 33 healthy women whose daily intake of Kera-Diet® was 500 mg with no other ingredients added)

By stimulating the endogenous production of glutathione (a powerful antioxidant) by keratinocytes, in vitro studies have shown that Kera-Diet® reduces cellular ageing under conditions of oxidative stress.

Cysti-White®: reducing brown spots

Cysti-White® is composed of L-Cystine and glutathione, two ingredients with a positive impact on skin health. This complex of ingredients promotes natural skin lightening and helps reduce brown spots. Thanks to the combination of these amino acids, the product stimulates the production of clear melanin, contributing to a progressive lightening effect.
A 90-day clinical study demonstrated that taking 750 mg of Cysti-White® daily visibly improved skin lightening, while reducing the size of dark spots on the face.

Naticol® – CySkin®: a source of collagen

Collagen continues to be a key ingredient in the dietary supplements market. This protein, which makes up our body, helps maintain the elasticity and firmness of our skin, as well as the good health of our joints. However, our collagen capital diminishes from the age of 25 onwards, hence the rise in popularity of nutraceuticals containing it. The size of the global market for collagen-based dietary supplements is estimated at $5.94 billion in 2024, with annual growth of 7.66% between now and 2029 [2].

The efficacy of Naticol®-CySkin® has been clinically proven. This complex of ingredients combines Weishardt’s Naticol® collagen and BCF Life Sciences’ L-Cystine for benefits on skin, hair and nails. It prevents and reduces brown spots, while improving skin tone.

The formulation of all these ingredient complexes is part of BCF Life Sciences’ strategy to offer high-performance ingredients, based on a demanding quality approach and solid scientific evidence.
